God’s Big Backyard

God’s Big Backyard is an environment created especially for your infant through kindergarten-aged children. We know that your children are learning and growing in amazing ways. Each time your child comes to God’s Big Backyard, we take advantage of this unique opportunity to introduce them to their loving Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus, and the His Word, the Bible.

Also included in God’s Big Backyard is “The Itty Bitty Backyard”, an area designed especially for infants and toddlers.

The Playhouse

The Playhouse is the preschool theater where children who are three years old through kindergarten age go for preschool style worship. That means energetic music and interactive Bible stories. Children attend The Playhouse as part of their Sunday morning time in God’s Big Backyard.

Baby Dedication

Baby Dedications are our way of helping parents get off to a great start by committing themselves to the spiritual development of their child. Baby dedication is a prayer time, held during a morning worship service, when parents, family, and the congregation unite in prayer for a child.

Requirements
At least one parent should be a member of or volunteer with First Baptist Hattiesburg

Parents should attend a session of “First Things First” baby dedication preparation class.

Couples presenting a child for dedication should be married; single parents may choose to have a family member participate with them.

First Things First
This one hour class is designed to help new parents make a good start at the task of spiritually parenting their child.  It is part parenting class, part planning for your child’s dedication. 

First Things First meets monthly on the 4th Sunday afternoon of each month, unless otherwise noted.
